On Wednesday night, Daniel Arsham and Pharrell Williams were joined by guests such as Brian Donnelly – AKA KAWS, Julia Chiang, Laure Debreuil, Terry Richardson, Andre Balazs, Richard Chai, Jeffrey Deitch, Q-Tip, Prince Philippos of Greece, Hanneli Ruppert, Felix Burrichter, Jennifer Missoni, Miraslova Duma, Luenell, Claire Mossier, Genevieve Jones, Helen Toomer, Emily Weiss, Sarah Lerfel, Alphan Eseli, Nicola Vassell, Gianni Jetzer, Peggy Leboeuf, Brett Littman, Jessica White, Tristan Wilds, Gabi Asfour, Pippa Cohen, Cheryl Dunn, Jamie Baratta, Phillip Bloch, Lisalla Montenegro, James Goldstein, Noemi Fer, Mia Moretti, Nicole Nadeau, Demet Muftuoglu, Ryder Ripps, Ryan McGinness, Michael Avedon, Rashaad Newsome, and Jose Parla among others from the worlds of art, fashion and music to celebrate the unveiling of their first sculptural collaboration. For the collaboration Arsham created replications of Pharrell’s keyboard and drum machine, instruments important to the prolific musical artist and producer at the genesis of his career in the late 1980’s. The party at The Standard, East Village included a tactile experience where guests could handle the objects—made from an array of geologic materials as to invoke a sense of the present as future—and enjoy the Indian summer eve at the end of New York Fashion Week 2013. Drinks for the party were graciously provided by Corzo Tequila, who hosted a dinner to celebrate the collaboration after the event.
