Continuum Center of Health and Healing celebrates its 10th anniversary
Earlier this week, noteworthy New Yorkers joined forces to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Continuum Center for Health & Healing, an innovative and thriving initiative of Beth Israel Medical Center, at Espace on West 42nd street in New York City.The Continuum Center’s founder Woodson Merrell, MD along with Beastie Boys frontman Michael “Mike D” Diamond, Fernanda Niven & Eric Cahan, Rory Tahari, Gabby Karan De Felice,Michelle & Asher Edelman, Dayssi Kanavos, Sharon J. Handler & Ambassador John L. Loeb, Sheila C. Johnson, Margaret & Daniel Loeb, Pat Collins & Bill Sarnoff, Linda & Benjamin Lambert, Fiona & Eric Rudin, Paulette Cole, Charlotte Sarkozy, Somers & Jonathan Farkas, Caroline Hirsch, and Muffie Potter Aston, toasted Donna Karan, whose Urban Zen initiative has created an optimal healing environment at Beth Israel Medical Center, where western medicine blends seamlessly with the spiritual and emotional needs of the patient.
The evening culminated with a rare and unique solo performance by international recording artist Elvis Costello, who took to the stage towards the end of dinner.
A silent auction, and support from sponsors including Canyon Ranch Living- Miami Beach, helped the Continuum Center for Health and Healing raise over $400,000 at last night’s benefit.
The Continuum Center for Health and Healing, is an initiative of Beth Israel Medical Center founded by Dr. Woodson Merrell in June 2000. It provides fully integrative care by practitioners of modern Western medicine, traditional indigenous medicine and progressive mind-body and complementary therapies in a specially designed healing environment.
