Element S
The Empowerment Plan is a vision being realized in Detroit, Michigan by CCS student, Veronika Scott. The Empowerment Plan centers around the Element S coat, now in its third stage of development. Element S coat stores the heat given off by the wearer during the day and at night
transforms into a single person heated tent.
Scott, the designer of the Element S coat, in working with people such as Melvin Love and Nykesha Newburn three times a week at the NSO, developed an understanding of the issues facing the homeless in Detroit. The plan has grown far beyond the confines of a school assignment; its purpose has become crucial to the lives of others.
